Is underfloor heating more expensive to run?
Compared to a traditional radiator system, if designed & installed correctly, a wet underfloor heating system is around 25% more efficient. By evenly distributing the underfloor heating pipes, the system runs at a lower temperature, reducing your energy consumption and carbon footprint.
What type of underfloor heating is best?
There are two ‘types’ of underfloor heating; Wet or Electric.
Wet UFH systems can entirely replace your existing central heating system, and electric UFH systems combine with existing heating to improve heating.
How much does it cost to install underfloor heating?

Can underfloor heating replace radiators?
Yes! A wet underfloor heating system designed by our experts would run as a standalone system and wouldn’t need a combination of UFH and radiators.
Is underfloor heating cheaper than traditional central heating?
Generally, yes. As underfloor heating runs at a much lower temperature than a typical radiator system, this reduces the energy used, lowering both bills and carbon footprints.
What Is the Best Screed for Underfloor Heating?
Liquid screeds are faster to install due to their free-flowing nature. Screeds can be poured in larger surface areas and with greater accuracy. Due to its high flexural strength, the screed can be force-dried after seven days. The UFH system can be commissioned early to achieve this. A liquid screed is less likely to crack than a dry screed and requires less movement or control joints. Bay sizes up to 20m in length, maintaining an aspect ratio of 1:6. Can be achieved. Liquid screed has higher thermal conductivity values typically (2.2W/mk). The screed can be placed at thinner depths than a traditional screed, resulting in improved reaction times and reduced flow temperatures. Can I install underfloor heating as a DIY project?
A competent DIY’er can install underfloor heating, although it is essential to ensure they have a designed pipework and system layout to work from. Once installed, a suitably qualified person will be required to connect our systems to your boiler (Or another heat source) and undertake any electrical works.
Can I put carpet over the underfloor heating?
Underfloor heating works well with various floor finishes, including carpets.

Do I need a new or bigger boiler for underfloor heating?
Underfloor heating runs at a lower temperature than a typical radiator-designed system, so it doesn’t require as much output. If the current boiler is designed and sized for radiators, usually, it will be more than adequate to serve a correctly designed underfloor heating system.
